I've never been to Lewis's in Liverpool but I found this and I like it. The idea of a whole floor of the store being closed for 30 years like a time capsule intrigues me. It's the subject of a book by photographer, Stephen King.

I love things like that too! When we were clearing out lots of junk recently, we found my mother-in-law's 21st birthday cards from 1961, it was brilliant....real life history! I love 1960s/70s design, think that's one of the reasons I love the "Mad Men" TV show, it looks so cool.
ReplyDeleteThey say a picture is worth a thousand words. It's true isn't it?
ReplyDeleteAt first I didn't see the word 'photographer' nor the spelling of 'Stephen'. I thought, "Steven King! He's going to have ghosts all over the place." Wrong Steven King of course. That's what I get for reading too fast.
Now I've got to Google the photographer.
I'll be back.
